The Art Workshop

Very excited to announce that I have been invited to run printmaking workshops for The Art Workshop in the New Year 2021! There are some fabulous Saturday afternoon workshops coming up and a brand new weekly course for those wanting to explore Printmaking in more detail. Places will be strictly limited so book early to avoid disappointment, all are in studio with social distancing and Covid Protocols for your safety.

Monotype Printmaking – Printing from Leaves and Feathers

This is a really accessible printmaking process that is full of potential. Work in a range of colours to create beautiful and detailed impressions of natural forms. No experience necessary – just come along and play!

Drypoint Etching

This age old etching process was pioneered by Rembrandt and is one of the simplest and most direct ways to make an etching. An introduction to the drypoint etching that will cover techniques of drawing and mark-making directly to the plate through to creating the final prints on Fabriano paper. A great way to sample one of intaglio printmaking’s many processes.

Weekly Classes

Introduction to Printmaking

This is ideal for anyone with a curiosity for printmaking. You will learn about all aspects of the art of print including working with the etching press, inks, rollers and tools. The course is designed to offer the opportunity for creative exploration using age-old techniques to enhance and energise the artwork you make. You will be introduced to Mono-type, Dry-point etching, Chine Collé and Lino-cut.

Thursday January 28th – Thursday March 11th. (Break for half term Thursday 18th Feb) 2-hour weekly workshops Thursdays 10am-12pm. £120
